New Policy: No Author Charges
As of January 1, 2018, AIP Publishing no longer collects page charges, color charges, or publication fees for non-open access articles.
All figures will appear in full color online (PDF and HTML) at no extra charge; all figures will appear in black and white in the printed journal.
Open Access Charges (APCs) still apply for authors participating in Author Select® who have requested the journal provide free online access to a published article, in perpetuity, to any online user.
Removing author page charges is the latest move in a continuum of policy changes that reflect AIP Publishing's commitment to making publishing more fair and accessible to all researchers. Last year, we began using a new non-restrictive license to publish, allowing authors to retain copyright of their own work. In May 2017, we joined the Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC), making reference data from AIP Publishing journals open and free to access.
